About

Formation Basic Trainer
par Fitness Instructor Professionals Organisation

Overview
FBT has been running successfully in Europe and South Africa since 2012. The FBT manual has been produced in English and in Spanish.

FBT instructor course is the first step for newcomers, wanting to start out in pole fitness, as well as current fitness professionals who want to gain a recognised certification in Pole Fitness.
FBT is an original and innovative exercise class created by FIPO and international pole fitness instructor and international competitor Tracey Simmonds.

FBT classes offer a whole body approach to fitness taking a fresh look at the concept of exercising on a vertical pole. FIPO classes are a highly evolved version of the formerly seen ’pole dance class’. This fun, unique and effective training programme brings pole fitness into the main stream health club environment. FBT classes can be delivered at varying intensities to accommodate different levels of students attending classes. FBT exercises are simple and easy to learn. Fitness benefits are derived from repetition of basic exercises that are put together by the instructor in easy to follow sequences.

FBT instructor course was created specifically to train instructors in the fundamentals of pole fitness, and equip them with the skills they need to become competent, creative and safe pole fitness instructors.

The FBT instructor course training pack includes a 120 page training manual and an assessment workbook in digital format. Students should print out the manual to study from, and to bring to the training days. The students will also receive a training DVD, in digital format.
The course is assessed by practical presentation, and a written class plan.
Having completed the FBT instructors course , instructors may start teaching basic level pole fitness. It is highly recommended that instructors continue their training with FIPO and complete the FIPO Intermediate Trainer (FIT). FIT is now available to those who have completed FBT. FIT is a three-day instructor training programme. Please enquire for further details.

FBT Instructor Course Content
The FBT instructor course involves a lot of physical training on the pole, as well as how to structure and plan pole fitness classes. Trainee instructors will get plan classes, using the FBT method and present moves from the FBT syllabus.

The FBT syllabus is divided up in the following ways: Fitpole Grips – The pole gripping positions for this level.

Fitpole Cardio – As part of easy to follow exercises. Fitpole Cardio may be performed at varying intensities, according to one’s fitness levels. Cardiovascular exercise is a key part of physical fitness. It improves heart and respiratory health and is an important part of training for those who want to lose weight.

Fitpole Strength, Fitpole Spin & Fitpole Tricks – To develop muscular strength and muscular endurance. These exercises are for toning the muscles, increasing strength, building stamina and improving co-ordination.

Fitpole Stretch – To improve flexibility and mobility in the body. Increased flexibility reduces the risk of injury and helps people to function better in everyday life. Stretching and relaxation are also important for stress reduction.

Who can attend this course?
It is highly recommended that students have practiced basic level pole fitness moves before attending the course. This is so they can get the most benefit from the course. However, it is possible for people without pole fitness experience to join the course, as basic moves and techniques will be taught.
The FBT training manual is available in English and Spanish.
If you are registered with REPS UK you can use the 16 REPs CPD points. http://www.exerciseregister.org

Starting a pole fitness instructing career after course completion
Having successfully completed the FBT instructor course, candidates may want to start teaching basic level pole fitness. To get a job at a pole fitness studio, instructors may be required to provide some additional paperwork. For example, first aid qualification, an entry level fitness qualification, REPs registration (www.exerciseregister.org), public liability insurance. Studios may even ask their new instructors to do unpaid supervised hours to get them started. This can seem daunting, but do not worry, all of these matters are covered in the FBT and FIPO Intermediate Trainer (FIT).
FIPO can also assist you with purchasing Fitpoles to set up your own pole fitness classes.

If you are uncertain about anything relating to your pole fitness career, FIPO, will be happy to offer support, even after you have finished studying the courses.

Course materials
The FBT instructor course training pack includes a 120 page training manual and an Assessment Workbook in digital format. Students should print out the manual and workbook to study from, and to bring to the training days. The students will also receive a training DVD, in digital format. You will be sent a course timetable prior to the start of the course.

Preparation for the course
Study and practice the practical elements of the course, using the FBT DVD, video links and the FBT training manual. Read and become familiar with the theoretical components of the course. Everything else will be taught during the training weekend. Please also make sure that you are fit and well before attending any courses. If you are feeling unwell or have become injured, let your trainer know asap. If you are unsure of any physical or medical conditions that you have that might prevent you from doing pole fitness, please ask us FIPO before enrolling. If you are 16 or 17 years old, make sure your parent or guardian has met with the tutor in order to give consent for your participation.

Course fees and payment
The FIPO Basic Trainer Instructor Course is a 2-day practical course, if there are many students, a third day may be required for assessments.
Courses are to be paid in full upfront, at least one-two months prior to the start of the course. This is so the course materials can be sent out and students can start reading up and practicing before the course begins. It also provides the Master Trainer with enough time to organise travel arrangements.
Course fees are non-fundable, but it may be possible to postpone the training to another date if enough notice is given.
€250 per student, can be paid via our webstore.
